Yellow House common room with fireplace

Great B&B

I am a very picky and detail-oriented person (and widely-traveled,) and there are very few hotels or B&B's that I feel deliver excellent service. The Yellow House is about the best I have ever experienced. I stayed there in the summer of 2013 for about 5 nights and with every passing day I was ever more impressed. It is hard to express the essence of this place, but I think it is this: in every detail of the Yellow House you can see the touch of an intelligent and committed person of good taste. The food is not only excellent, it is interesting, creative, and even visually pleasing. The wrap-around porch is an exquisitely pleasant outdoor space, with well-laid-out furnishings, exposure to a lush green lawn, fresh coastal air, and slanting morning sun. In the room each piece of art on the walls or table top was worth looking at. And the location is amazing, 100 feet off the busiest (and nicest) commercial street in the town. TripAdvisor

Our room was delightful with luxurious linens. Everything was updated. The bathroom was especially spacious with a clawfoot tub and a separate large shower. The Yellow House has a wide porch with great rocking chairs for leisurely reading or a quick nap. TripAdvisor

Large and spacious room

We stayed three nights in the Yellow House. We had a large and spacious room, which was comfortable and had all the ameneties that you needed. This included a small guest kitchen with a fridge so that you could make your own drinks. TripAdvisor

Our rooms were terrific and the house was beautiful. Anyone who enjoys classic American architecture will appreciate the Yellow House. It was spotless, and their huge porch is the topper. Breakfast was elegant and unique, completely beyond expectations. Pat and Chris were very friendly, helpful and interesting.

Great location

We had been driving through New England for four weeks and stayed at primarily small inns and b&bs. We loved the Yellow House. It was one of our favorites. It is beautifully decorated and the breakfasts were terrific. The location is perfect. While there are lots of similar inns in the area, the Yellow House is located in a quiet area called "the field" just off of Main Street and only a 5 minute walk to the harbor area. When looking into this inn further, however, be sure to check the address as there are inns with similar names, but not similar at all in location, charm, and wonderfully warm hosts, Chris and Pat. We will definitely return again.

Highly recommended

We stayed at the Yellow House this time – highly recommended. It will exceed your expectations for a B&B. TripAdvisor

Fabulous breakfasts

My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here & the breakfasts were truly gourmet. The first morning offered French toast with slivered almonds & garnished with red raspberries & a slice of orange. The second morning offered a delicious grittata with sun-dried tomatoes, & mushrooms & a blueberry muffin. Great ways to begin the days, and the other five mornings are all different; I'd love to have experienced all of them. TripAdvisor
